DM supports remarriage for faithful spouses as an option

If you think remarriage for faithful spouses is forbidden…

…THEN THIS BLOG IS NOT FOR YOU!!!

As I read Scripture, faithful spouses are free to remarry after divorce without shame. This includes remarrying while the cheater is still alive.

Faithful spouses are free from the marital bonds severed via a godly divorce.

But if the husband or wife who isn’t a believer insists on leaving, let them go. In such cases the believing husband or wife is no longer bound to the other, for God has called you to live in peace.

– I Corinthians 7:15, NLT

Not every Christian pastor or minister agrees with this position. However, this is my blog, and I do not need to give a platform to views I consider theologically incorrect.

Plenty of blogs and books exist that will shame faithful spouses for divorcing cheaters and daring to remarry as part of moving on from the marriage.

THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE PLACES!

If you believe remarrying is always wrong and divorcing–even an adulterous party–is wrong, then I suggest you find those other platforms and books that echo your views.

I have the power to delete comments and ban commenting visitors who are behaving badly. This is something I will do as I created this platform and community as a safe-space for faithful spouses trying to heal from toxic Christianity.

In my opinion, few views are more toxic than the view that faithful spouses must stay with a cheater and may never remarry after divorce while the cheater lives.

You are free to hold such a view, and I am free to ban anyone voicing such a toxic view from this website.

  1. Agreed 👍
Yes. God (Jaweh) himself divorced and remarried, because of Israel’s adultery.
Yet, some, within the church, refuse to accept this as an example for us human faithful spouses to follow. Nevertheless, I view this stance, that the church takes against the faithful spouse remarrying due to adultery, as not lining up with scripture.
Furthermore, this is another example of how the church treats divorce as more sinful than adultery.
I know God hates divorce, but He (Jaweh) hates adultery more.
