Happy Blog Half-Birthday (+ two days)!
In a little over six months, this blog has come a long ways. I had initially started it to see if anyone might be interested in my thoughts on the matters of adultery and divorce. The answer to that question has been a resounding “Yes!”
I share these numbers about the blog more as an encouragement to those of us who might despair about the uphill battle being fought against adultery and unbiblical divorce prejudice. They mean we are not alone in our experiences and interest in these topics. People are listening and visiting.
In a little over six months, Divorce Minister: Taking Adultery Seriously has had:
-Over 45,000 Views
-Visitors from 103 Different Countries
-1,000’s of Unique Visitors
While I am sad this blog and voice is so obviously needed (i.e. adultery is taking place and/or Christians don’t know how to respond pastorally on these matters), I am encouraged people are finding their way here and are being fed. And I am thankful God is still in the business of turning our life’s scars–my and Mrs. DM’s especially–into testimonies of His faithfulness and resources for healing.
This blog and accompanying ministry is helping Mrs. DM and I fulfill the prophetic verses we chose as a mission statement for our marriage on our wedding day:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, ESV
Thank you all for visiting and for honoring us by sharing your stories with us as some have done! I count it a real privilege to both share some teachings with you and an even greater privilege to journey with many of you through your own dark valleys.
Remember: God has not forgotten you even if it feels like it, and sometimes He sends His messages to His people in some strange ways–from Balaam’s ass to maybe this sometimes wiggy blog.
Congratulations :). N thank you for being brave enough to start this blog
Congrats! This blog has brought me .. And I bet many others a lot of encouragement, hope and validation. Thank you’!
Congratulations! I think it will just keep growing by leaps and bounds. The validation this site brings through scripture is priceless.
DM, my experience of being cheated on and your blog helped to bring me back to God and for that I will always be grateful. I had lunch with an Episcopal priest the other day and told him all about CL and divorceminister.com
Changing the narrative has to start somewhere! Thanks for all you do.
