A father’s love

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!

-I John 3:1a, NLT

Do we believe this about how the Father views us?

I believe this is the fundamental question for spiritual health. When I struggle with fear or worth issues, I usually am struggling in believing God loves me this much.

This morning in church I was struck by this.* The pastor was talking about the Father’s love for us and how when we screw up that ought to prompt us to run to the Father.

My parenting philosophy is one where I aspire to love Munchkin so well that she understands nothing she does or doesn’t do will ever change my love for her. I want her to know my love for her is a rock to which she can always return.

When I was thinking about this and listening to the pastor, I felt the Lord convict me:

David, how much more so me to you!

God loves His children better than I will ever be able to love Munchkin. That means my aspiration is something He nails out of the park, if I am willing to believe and let Him.

How about you? Will you trust God loves you like that?
