Boasting over your tolerance of sin is inappropriate.
-I Corinthians 5:6a, TPT
Some churches welcome adulterous spouses. They have no shame about this behavior.
In fact, they celebrate how welcoming they are to these folks. It truly is head-scratching to think they see this sort of behavior as a faithful witness to how God wants them to treat adulterous individuals.
The “Christian” Cheater finds a church that will welcome them with open arms. They fear no pressure to stop their sin in such environments. It is a “cheap grace” sort of church.
I wish I could say this was uncommon. However, I suspect this is more the rule than the exception.
Few are brave enough to confront a cheater; even though, the Bible is clear this confrontation is our Christian duty.
They fail both the Cheater and the faithful spouse spiritually:
The Cheater is lulled into a false sense of spiritual security when they are not exhorted to repent. On the other hand, the faithful spouse and family is faced with hypocrisy from people claiming to submit to Jesus as Lord but unwilling to do the difficult thing Jesus calls them to do.
