Thou shalt not commit adultery.
-Exodus 20:14, KJV
Be prepared for the cheater to give every excuse as to why what they did wasn’t “that bad.”
I think that is all about their own defenses. It comes back to their own image management where they are unwilling to face reality because that would tarnish their own self-image.
However, adultery is adultery.
A spouse had sexual relationships with someone who was not their spouse. That is adultery.
The Bible leaves no wiggle room on its stance on adultery. God condemns it. Period.
I fail to see anywhere in the Bible where God discussions “conditions” under which adultery is NOT sin. So, that means those discussions do not matter.
A defense of denial is no defense to God. He will not be fooled when it comes judgment time (see 2 Cor 5:10, Gal 6:7-8). The cheater is really cheating himself or herself with this in the end.
