Cheater: A friend… You know, my relationship with Andy has nothing to do with our marriage problems.
A cheater who is unwilling to admit any problems regarding the cheating is a cheater who has been given over to their sin.
It really is that sadly simple. They cannot be reached at this point. The cheater has declared an unwillingness to deal with reality.
After all, cheating is a like a bullet to the heart of a marriage. Sure, you can talk about your hang nails. However, that marriage will die (if it hasn’t already) if the bullet in the heart is left unaddressed.
If you have a cheater giving you lines like the one above, you can rest assured that he or she is not repentant. Without remorse, it is impossible to rebuild a godly marriage.
When a cheater claims the cheating has nothing to do with the marriage problems, they are showing their hand as that they have no problems with cheating on you.
That is your que to run (i.e. divorce them).
They might not have problems with cheating on you. However, I hope you have problems with them so boldly and shamelessly cheating on you.
