“That might be YOUR truth, but that’s not my truth!” cries an exposed Cheater.
Cheaters are big on trying to control how people perceive them.
They will go through all sort of word-gymnastics to avoid the real truth. When someone dares to point out what they are doing is sin, they will twist the matter to seem this truth is relative.
It is not.
God does not condone or endorse sin.
A cheater will choose to live in a word constructed of lies and darkness. This is what is really revealed when they insist the truth is not their “truth.”
It is sad.
Yet some people choose the darkness over the light (see John 3:19-20).
For faithful spouses, it is pointless to argue with such a person. They are declaring their allegiance to the kingdom of lies and darkness. Cheaters are not interested in reality and actual truth.
Reality and actual truth–moral truth–is a real buzz killer for them. Cheaters trying to privatize “truth” are running from responsibility for their sins. They are incapable of repentance as repentance starts with acknowledging what they did IS truly sin!
Save your breathe with such individuals. All you will get is abuse for speaking truth to them.
