Faithful to the faithful

25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful;
    to those with integrity you show integrity.
26 To the pure you show yourself pure,
    but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.
27 You rescue the humble,
    but you humiliate the proud.

-Psalm 18:25-27, NLT

God is faithful.

And God is not fooled by the behavior of Cheaters. He understand their games and is not amused.

God is certainly not amused by their haughtiness!

Pride is a hallmark of Cheaters. They think they know what is best, and their decisions are done in service of their god–i.e. themselves. The only hope for a Cheater is to turn and choose humility over pride. That is the only way from certain spiritual destruction (see Hebrews 10:26-27).

For those of us who are struggling, I want to remind you that God honors faithfulness.

Psalm 18 is a psalm following David being delivered from his enemies including King Saul. This was a LOOOONG process. David wasn’t delivered overnight. So, if you don’t see immediate deliverance, you are in good company.

My point is God is a good bet.

We may need to persevere through a difficult season, yet character shows and is rewarded in the long-run. Lack of character, too, shows and is punished like gravity taking a rock to the bottom of a cliff.

Faithfulness matters.

It matters to God.

And He is faithful to the faithful. His Word says so!
