But a man who commits adultery has no sense;
whoever does so destroys himself.-Proverbs 6:32, NIV
Before I discovered the confirmed adultery partner, I was warned something was likely happening via a family friend.
Adults use to regular sexual relations and romantic attentions do not stop “cold turkey.” An outlet is needed. The coldness towards a spouse may simply be a signal that the cheater is getting “it” elsewhere.
Is this always the case? No.
I am sure some are not driven by their sexual desires like other cheaters. But I suspect that person is more rare than not.
The “high” of being pursued and the “high” of the new, forbidden sexual relationship is a very tempting bait for the sin trap.
Humans have been falling for such enticement for thousands of years. Proverbs tells us just as much.
The foolish choices of cheaters are not just limited to our times. Humans have been making these poor, destructive choices for many, many years.
