Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. – James 1:13, NKJV
God did not author this! She did.
An unfortunate consequence of allowing human freedom is allowing humans to make sinful choices. Those choices belong to the humans making the choices, not God.
God is especially good at redeeming our sinful messes. But He didn’t make them!
We might be angry with God for not stopping our wicked (ex) spouse and her cohorts. However, that anger is misplaced.
God did not tempted them into such wickedness. He is not the author of their sins. They are!
Our anger is better served directing it where it belongs–upon the parties responsible for choosing and executing sin. Such energy can strengthen us to take a godly stance of non-tolerance of such sinful abuse.
(Obviously, we are called NOT to sin in our anger–see Ephesians 4:26)
Personally, I am grateful for all the ways God has redeemed the wickedness visited upon me via my cheating ex-wife and her supporters.
But I do not for a moment believe God chose to put me through such traumas any more than I believe God is the author of evil.
