Lord, it is clear to me now that how we live
will dictate how you deal with us.
Good people will taste your goodness, Lord.
And to those who are loyal to you,
you love to prove that you are loyal and true.-Psalm 18:25, TPT
God rewards faithfulness.
This is a spiritual truth. I have seen this coming true over and over again in my own life.
Now, the timing and the way God rewards may not be when or how I expected it to be. God is not a machine that we can pull the “faithful” lever and make Him dispense our favorite “candy.” That is not how this works.
The story of Joseph’s life illustrates this spiritual truth about God.
He was given prophetic dreams about his life’s destiny. I bet Joseph did not expect to be sold into slavery by his brothers, unjustly imprisoned for NOT committing adultery, and only then having to wait several more years languishing in prison before God brought about the fulfillment of the prophetic destiny on his life.
Yet God showed Himself faithful to the faithful Joseph.
This is just one of many such stories in the Bible. God values faithfulness. He is committed to revealing this to those who continue in faithfulness.
I have seen this spiritual truth at work in my life time and time again.
This is not to diminish the difficulties of the present time. I am sure Joseph struggled mightily while a slave and in prison. He knew the cold experience of injustice yet…
…Joseph bet on God!
He remained faithful in all those circumstances. God saw this, and we see how God richly rewarded his servant’s faithfulness.
Don’t give up! Remember: God reveals Himself faithful to the faithful!!!
