…whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
-Hebrews 13:4b, KJV
How do you put a price on that?
Some Christians are so busy blaming a faithful spouse that they fail to see the incredible loses this individual has unjustly endured. They do not “get it.”
In the evangelical culture, many of us were raised to value keeping ourselves virgins until we married. We offered our bodies sexually to another for the first time on the wedding night.
Cheaters took that priceless gift–being our “first.” Then they treated it with utter contempt by cheating and discarding us like used tissue paper.
Where is the righteous indignation from our brothers and sisters in the Lord over that?!
It is disgusting.
We will never get that gift back. Yes, we can move on to having a wonderful new relationship or a fantastic cheater-free life. However, that gift is forever gone. The cheater took it and threw it away with contempt.
How do you put a price on that?
Some of us valued keeping ourselves for our spouse. It mattered to us that he or she was our first. So, it is just one more deep wound to have that gift treated like trash by the cheater. Plus, that pain is compounded by having so many Christians callously or obliviously blind to that injustice.

PS I want to encourage you that life does get better. This is one loss I endured with my divorce. However, I am very grateful for all God has given me after going through that. I would not have the blessings I have today if I had never gone through that (and many other) losses. God is faithful, always.
