“While some of the massage therapists we have tried to interview are not willing to share their experiences with us, many have spoken candidly and with great detail. Combining those interviews with our review of documents and electronic data, we have found significant, credible evidence that Mr. Zacharias engaged in sexual misconduct over the course of many years.”
-Lynsey M. Barron, Esq., “RE: Interim Report of Investigation into Allegations of Sexual Harassment by Ravi Zacharias”
To RZIM Board’s credit, they recently released this interim report regarding the investigations into the allegations against the late Ravi Zacharias.
This puts to rest the questions over whether people were just slandering this leader in the evangelical community. They were telling the truth as this interim report concludes. It is a sad conclusion that RZ was engaged in behavior unbecoming of a Christian minister.
I wonder if or how this will affect the Christian and Missionary Alliance investigation regarding Ravi Zacharias and his credentials.
The transparency here is encouraging. Hopefully, this transparency by the RZIM board will continue with the public sharing of the final report regarding these allegations.
At this point, I think apologies are owed to the brave women who came forward with allegations. In particular, Lori Anne Thompson is owed one by the leaders in the evangelical community.
Sadly, this investigation is not directed at Thompson’s allegations towards RZ. The report itself explains that it is focused upon the allegations from spa employees directed at RZ. (For those unfamiliar, Ravi Zacharias was accused of sexual misconduct by former employees at spas he co-owned.)
Time will tell. However, I hope RZIM and RZ’s family releases the Thompsons from the NDA and shines the light fully on this sad chapter.
Those who walk in the light welcome the light, after all.
