This evening I had the privilege of helping my daughter get to sleep. She wanted me to lie in bed with her for a little while. So, I did.
As I lay there, I was struck about how this moment never would have happened if I had stayed married to my cheating first wife.
I never would have met Mrs. DM and never would have known the joy of having a plucky princess in my life who wanted me to help her fall asleep.
Discovering infidelity is awful.
That is a gross understatement. Many days–sometimes years–are spent slogging through some pretty rotten situations. And all of this is a huge matter of grave injustice for the faithful spouse.
They didn’t cheat.
Yet my encouragement to those in the middle of the battle is to not stop. Keep taking it one step at a time. The pain is finite…believe it or not.
And one day, you too may discover new blessings from God in your life as I did this evening.
