The theme of my sermon was how to be an effective encourager. I drew on passages from Job and Acts touching on difficult subjects of grief and forgiveness along the way.

An effective encourager does not allow the past or present circumstances dictate their faith in the goodness of God. They hold on to hope and share that with their friend.
