Eight years ago yesterday, I started my Chaplaincy Residency at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center in my home state.
This job was a gift from God. It shouldn’t have been available as late in the year as it was. Plus, it was back “home” for me.
God knew I needed this job to weather my divorce (that came through in the middle of it) and launch my career as a professional, clinical chaplain.
I will never forget the grin on my face as I crossed the boarder into my home state. It felt good!
Even though, I was struggling at feeling God’s presence. This was concrete proof that He was with me in the midst of the darkest of days. He was and is my Provider!
I share this to encourage you as you go through your own dark valley. You might not feel Him close; however, that does not mean He is gone.
