He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of deep sorrows
who was no stranger to suffering and grief.
We hid our faces from him in disgust
and considered him a nobody, not worthy of respect.-Isaiah 53:3, TPT
During this Holy Week, I think it important to write a reminder about Jesus. This is a reminder that I found helpful during my dark season.
Jesus understands what it is like to be misjudged and contemptuously despised.
He can relate to the pain we experience as rejected faithful spouses. Also, he can relate to the rejection we often experience from the faith community. After all, it was his faith community who led the charge to crucify him.
I find this truth comforting.
My Savior does not just have an academic knowledge of my pain. He experienced it himself.
Whenever you feel overwhelmed and alone in your pain, you can know that you are not alone in it. Jesus is with you. He is a good friend who can relate.
May that be a balm for your soul as I found it to be myself!
