After posting about how cheating affects the whole family, I was struck by a popular Country song.
This song isn’t about marriage. It is about dating relationships designed to lead to marriage, obviously. I share it not to trivialize the marriage commitment. Divorce is much more than breaking up after dating steady.
However, I love the message in the song.
The singer is Ingrid Andress and her song is “More Hearts Than Mine.” She sings about how her family members’ hearts will be affected by the breakup of their relationship (if it happens).
I love how the song illustrates the truth about relationships in community and how those relationships ending leave more than just the former couple grieving the loss.
