But Jesus said, “Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”

As I work to prepare for Easter, I was struck by this exchange. Notice how Jesus calls out the action for what it was.
Jesus labels it betrayal and points out the especially awful means of that betrayal–namely, the kiss.
We need not be afraid to label the awful behavior of cheaters as what it is:
Lying.
Betrayal.
Adultery.
Soul rape.
Abuse.
It is only when we are willing to see the problem for what it is that we can actually deal with it.
Also, I believe naming it is a mercy to the sinner who is causing us so much harm. It provides them with an opportunity to repent (even if they never take that opportunity, sadly).
Jesus wasn’t afraid to name it.
Go and do likewise…
