Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
-Hebrews 11:1, NIV
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
-Hebrews 11:6, KJV
Faith is so very key during a time of upheaval.
We cannot simply rely on our natural “eyes” or how we feel to make it through such times. Our sight must be spiritual to make it through the dark spiritual storm.
Without this spiritual sight, people shipwreck their faith (see I Timothy 1:19).
How this applies is trusting in the goodness of God during a time that you do not feel it. In fact, you might feel the opposite of His love in the moment. That is precisely when faith MUST take over!
If we could always see it and feel it naturally, we would not need faith. That, though, is just not how the spiritual realm works.
We have to make choices–like to trust God–and move forward in that trust–aka as faith.
This is the sort of faith God rewards. I have experienced such rewards in my own life–so, I can testify to the truth of these verses quoted. Yet it is never easy doing this in the midst of a dark, dark storm of life.
