Who will condemn me?
They will all wear out like a garment;
the moths will eat them up.-Isaiah 50:9, NIV
God is on the side of righteousness.
In the case of adultery, that means God is on the “side” of the faithful spouse. He is not participating in their condemnation.
I say this as a pastor. Too often, faithful spouses feel God is the one condemning them. They believe this because other Christians voice such awful, condemning things about them.
This is not God’s heart regarding faithful spouses.
His heart is revealed in this verse out of Isaiah 50. God does not condemn, and He stands with us as our help.
It astounds me how some so-called Christians are often quick to condemn the faithful spouse and even quicker to make “excuses” for the adulterous party.
So backwards!
Condemn the adultery, NOT the adultery victim!
