Got to love those “you are doing the ‘Christian’ thing wrong” lectures from the naive Christian leaders or cheater apologists! Right?!
These lectures are really simply another way people blame faithful spouses for their marriages imploding and–sometimes–even for the cheating. It is disgusting.
They might take the form of blaming you for not “forgiving” well. Maybe they even call you ‘bitter?’ Never mind, the cheater hasn’t even stopped cheating. That is unimportant in their spiritually twisted minds.
If you are a faithful wife, these people might lecture you about not being properly “submissive.” They–again–care little about the fact that the cheating is always 100% the responsibility of the cheater just like any sin is.
For faithful husbands, we might experience a lecture about our “poor” spiritual leadership, and perhaps, they might even presume to question our priorities. They fail to understand even a perfect leader–God–had an unfaithful wife–Israel (see Jeremiah 3:8).
Dealing with the lies and infidelity are bad enough on their own.
These sort of lectures have no place in God’s family. They are another form of torment for the already tormented faithful spouses.
