Cheaters are not very good at own their own behaviors. They excel at blaming others for their misdeeds.

So, it should come as no surprise that the “sins” or “misdeeds” that they accused their spouses of are likely the misdeeds and sins that they themselves commit or committed.

For example, the cheater might accuse the faithful spouse of lying and manipulating close friends and family for their purposes.

The irony is that is precisely what the cheater is doing by hiding their secret life of sin and attacking the character of their spouse!

In other words, the cheater is engaging in projecting. They are projecting their own sins and misdeeds on the faithful spouse.

As long as this is happening, you can be assured that the cheater is not able to repent as they are refusing to see their sin, which is a necessary first step towards repentance.
