“Be still, and know that I am God!” – Psalm 46:10a, NLT
When I was in the shock stage, I often found myself drawing a warm bath with lavender bath salts to ease my stress. I would play worship music to encourage my soul as I soaked in the tub before or after I went to work. It was therapeutic for me.
In that season, I had no idea what the future held for me. All was desolation and loss.
I had a choice to make:
Do I reject God during this life tragedy or do I press further into His arms?
I chose to press further into His arms even though I still felt the brutal pain that came with having the oneness of my first marriage severed then “raped” through adultery.
The relaxing baths helped. And the music reminded me of hope when I could not see any. They were my prayers of faith in this season.
When you find yourself in the place of desolation, I hope you have your own relaxing routine. May you be able to
“Be still, and know that [He is] God.”
