Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “…You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” …The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

God sends His “ravens!”
It is easy to focus on all the negative when our lives are upended by some nasty news or discovery. The tendency to believe evil wins in this world is strong.
But I have noticed something about the ways of God:
He sends His “ravens!”
I have experienced enough difficult news in my life to recognize this pattern. Our good heavenly Father is never surprised by such news, and I believe He marshals resources to send us necessary care.
Maybe it is a long-time friend who calls you “out of the blue” when you needed encouragement? God sends His ravens.
Maybe it is a complete stranger paying for your coffee or gifting you groceries when you needed it the most? God sends His ravens.
Maybe it is a dear pet–a dog or a cat–who senses your pain and cuddles with you to help make it better? God sends His ravens.
I have experienced over and over, again. Just when I think all hope is lost, God sends His “ravens” to uphold me. My hopelessness does not stop Him from sending His “ravens” to care for me, because He loves me.
The moral of this “story” is to remember God knows your needs and if you are watching, you might just catch Him sending His ravens to care for you!
