When a cheater is separating out the affair from the marriage troubles, you can be assured they are not interested in healing and restoring the marriage.
They have told themselves the lie that their present marital problems are unrelated to the affair; so, that means they can carry on with the affair. It is irrelevant, in their minds.
This is a sick lie.
Of course, the affair is destructive to the marriage. It is like saying a gunshot to the heart is irrelevant to the cancer patient’s health.
