“We were already divorced in our hearts,” says Cheater.
“Our marriage has had problems for years,” says Cheater.
“I’ve been unhappy in our marriage for a long time,” says Cheater.
Cheaters accept lies to “justify” their sinful behavior.
This is what is at the root of the problem for Cheaters. They have bought into lies. Things are said or thought that are taken as “justification” for sinful behavior that has no justification.
A sad thing about this is how outsiders might reinforce these lies. They fail to call out the Cheater’s lies.
When Cheaters say something like the above, they don’t turn around and warn them.
“Thou shalt not commit adultery (Exodus 20:14)” does not say unless…[insert favorite excuse]
It really is not complicated. The simple moral command is easy to understand and is unambiguous. This command does not leave the door open to the multitude of excuses Cheaters might employ to “justify” the unjustifiable.
