Striking when most vulnerable

Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the Lord which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.

-Malachi 2:11, KJV

A sadly common phenomenon in many infidelity stories is how the cheater discards the faithful spouse precisely while the faithful spouse is most vulnerable.

For example:

-The faithful spouse might be a stay at home mother (SAHM) or father without financial means to fight back and support themselves.

-The faithful spouse might be pregnant.

-The faithful spouse might have a close family member dying or may themselves be fighting for their own lives.

-The faithful spouse may have moved across country or to another country altogether for the cheater’s career.

-The faithful spouse might be in school or otherwise trying to launch their career and thereby more vulnerable financially.

This is precisely when some cheaters launch their attack.

Some might even use the vulnerability to further belittle and demean the faithful spouse during the discard of them. They might blame the cheating on the fact that the faithful spouse cared for the kids or their dying loved one. Nothing is sacred to them–except their own pleasure.

It is truly treachery. Nothing is honorable about adultery. It is truly evil.
