“Taking Adultery Seriously” Still

Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce….

-Jeremiah 3:8a, NKJV

Now, over a decade ago, I started this ministry for people dealing with infidelity abuse.

One might think taking adultery seriously would be uncontroversial of a stance. Sadly, it is not. Plenty of people want to harbor sin and enjoy the forbidden fruits of darkness. This includes religious people.

This blog ministry started as a mere brain dump and then evolved into a book plus in person class. It brings me joy to hear how the ministry has been used to uplift and heal fellow infidelity abuse survivors.

The reason I take adultery seriously is NOT to condemn Cheaters. Rather, it is to bring real healing and hope to all parties:

Healing cannot begin until the truth is acknowledged and confronted. Adultery is sinful and highly abusive is the starting place.

Forgiveness is available to all. However, such forgiveness is unobtainable for those unwilling to turn from their sins in repentance. We do Cheaters no favors by teaching otherwise.

Even worse, we do faithful parties no favors by minimizing the damage and wrongness of adultery. As Christians, it creates a false picture that God is okay with their abuse. He is not!

So, I continue “Taking Adultery Seriously!” and will for as long as I feel God has called me to do so!
