Taking care of self

When I was going through the deep valley of separation, adultery discovery, and divorce, I had to make conscience decisions to take care of myself.

The grief is that extreme.

For me, I had to remind myself to eat. If I did not do this, then I would not have eaten at all during that time. The sickening trauma of it all made me uninterested in food.

I would regularly listen to worship music to uplift my soul and remind me of truth regarding God’s love and plan for my life. This was helpful for nourishing my soul in this time.

In addition to that, I would relax in a warm bath with lavender salt to ease the tension in my muscles. It was helpful in dealing with the inevitable anxiety that came in this season.

What are you doing (or what did you do) to care for yourself during this time?

It is important not to forget to do this.

  1. Take loooong showers… 3 times a day…

    Go visit people in need, sick, or elderly…
    This last one makes you realize that your not alone and there are others in worst situation.
