I will be flying out of state tomorrow (April 21) to celebrate an old roommate’s wedding on the East Coast.
It is a trip I am both looking forward to but also am feeling ambivalence. This will be the first time out that I will have Mrs. DM with me as we visit the home of Yale University. It will be the first time I will have been back to some places–like New Haven–since my divorce about a decade ago.
I recognize it will be weird and expect some strange, grief-related feelings. But what I have learn is that those feelings pass.
Trips like these ultimately are healing journeys. It is all part of the grief process where I get an opportunity to make new, positive memories with Mrs. DM!
Plus, I am really excited to meet up with old, dear friends!
That said, I will likely be pausing the blog Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so that I can enjoy the trip.
