“According to Ben’s brief, Julianna admitted in her deposition that she was ‘engaging in sexual relations with both husband and Pastor Yawn prior to husband’s leave of absence’ from the Cubs and continued ‘her sexual affair while the parties were attending marital counseling.'”
-Phil Thompson, “5 things to know about the Ben and Julianna Zobrist divorce trial – which begins Monday – and Ben’s $6 million civil suit against the couple’s former pastor,” Chicago Tribune.
What this article fails to mention is that “Pastor Yawn” was married, too. It is a sick display of the lengths cheaters will go to avoid taking responsibility for their sinful behavior.
So many typical responses of a cheater can be seen in this brief article outlining the allegations before the divorce trial.
1. The cheaters claim–through their lawyer–to be in a healthy relationship still. Both are professing Christian leaders who ought to know what they are doing is wicked in the eyes of God and anything BUT healthy!
2. The cheaters are attacking the faithful spouse with allegations of spiritual and emotional abuse to “justify” their behavior. They are attempting to reframe the matter and paint Julianna as the victim as opposed to the aggressor-cheater that she is.
3. Julianna allegedly attended marriage counseling while cheating on her husband, Ben. Some cheaters are truly this sick. If the alleged abuse from Ben was so bad, then she could have ended it as oppose to use counseling as a cover while she cheated on him.
Nothing is new under the sun (see Ecclesiastes 1:9).
Cheaters work from the same play book because they are operating from the kingdom of darkness. That kingdom has only one playbook, and it is full of lies.
I hope Ben Zobrist wins these cases and the cheaters get exposed for what they are–manipulative and greedy abusers.
