Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. – Psalm 100:3-5, NIV
Here in the U.S.A. is the special day we come together to eat turkey, watch football, and mostly to give thanks to God for His gifts this past year. And I think this is the most wonderful of holidays. I especially enjoy the new twists of Scandinavian food I experience by visiting my new in-laws 🙂
Regardless of whether or not this is your holiday, I think it is always good to give thanks to God.
What are you thankful for?
I am thankful for so much. First, I am thankful for a God who turns ashes into beauty. Thankful for family and true friends. Good food, working cars, a loving munchkin who insists on sitting on my lap, and my beautiful, spunky Norwegian wife, Mrs. DM! And as a former college football player, I hope I will be able to give thanks for the opportunity to watch an NFL game or two today…we will see 😉
