And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
-Hebrews 11:6, NLT
When I teach on faith, I make the point that faith requires believing when we do not see. If we saw and experienced it, then it would not be faith.
The terrible experience of having a cheating spouse opens up an opportunity to give God an offering of faith. We are experiencing something that calls into question the goodness of God–at least, it did for me.
We have a choice to make:
Do I cling to God in faith or do I choose to believe my experience over God’s promises?
I want to encourage you who are in the middle of the “suck.” God is worth trusting. He is a good bet!
God does, indeed, reward those who pursue Him!
And this tough circumstance is an opportunity to offer up something that is of value–i.e. our faith. Anyone can bless God while life is easy and good. But will we choose God and trust in His goodness while our world burns around us?
