14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
-Exodus 20:14, KJV
You would think…
…this verse said,
“Thou shalt not divorce your spouse.”
But it does NOT!
The Bible does not treat divorce like it treats adultery. Our Ten Commandments doe NOT prohibit divorce. They prohibit adultery.
This is clear. However, you would think Bible-believing pastors were preaching from a different Bible when it comes to adultery and divorce.
They treat divorce as worse than adultery.
How do I know? They focus on the divorce as the problem as opposed to the adultery preceding it. This is sick and backwards.
God condemns adultery consistently throughout the Bible. That is the problem. Divorce–may or may not be–as it is often a mercy to those subject to a union with a stubborn cheater.
Yes. This is so true!
However, today, there is increased deception (false doctrine) preached in the so-called Christian churches today.
There was absolutely no support, from the church, for me, during or after my marriage to an alcoholic, abusive cheater. SMH! Come, quickly, Lord Jesus Christ.
