“During the celebration [church retirement party for Yawn], Julianna and Pastor Yawn both got drunk and were described in the filings as ‘dancing “on” each other in a provocative way that was very embarrassing to Ben Zobrist, especially in front of their close church friends.’
The dad-of-three baseball player privately rebuked his wife for her conduct, to which Julianna was said to have taken ‘umbrage.'”
– from “Cheating wife of ex-Chicago Cubs star Ben Zobrist spent $30,000 of his money on drunken party for married pastor she was sleeping with, divorce docs claim” by Emily Crane and Snejana Farberov, in DAILYMAIL.COM, published July 20, 2021.
Well, the divorce of Ben Zobrist from his cheater wife, Julianna, is getting uglier.
The boldness of cheaters sometimes is breathtaking. They have a way of treating faithful spouses with utter contempt. This article lays out those ways in this case, in my opinion.
Take this dirty dancing episode (see quote above)…
First, why is it acceptable for a Christian leader (singer) and a pastor to get drunk? That seems problematic at the start of this. Does it surprise anyone that further poor decisions followed that poor decision to abuse alcohol?
Second, consider the level of entitlement they felt in dancing in a sexualized way publicly with at least one (if not both spouses) present at the party! (Plus, consider the husband, Ben Zobrist, essentially paid for this party at which he was being humiliated.) That is some gall!
Finally, talk about callous disregard of one’s spouse when she allegedly took “umbrage” to being called on her disrespectful behavior. Clearly–if true–her heart was given to this pastor as she was not moved by the pain she had just caused her husband. Emotional affair bells ought to be ringing loudly in situations like these.
Sadly, in possibly less public and less spectactular ways, this is not uncommon cheater behavior. They are entitled and often revel in humiliating their spouse.
