“No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.-Isaiah 54:17, NKJV
Too often we, faithful spouses, do not give ourselves enough credit for what we have overcome in this difficult journey.
I am truly amazed by the stories I hear from y’all. From individuals starting new careers with small children while their marriages end with the violent death dealt to it by adultery to others standing strong against the shaming of counselors and pastors who are more than willing to tolerate adultery as long as the marriage does not officially end.
It may not seem like it to you, but you are handling this awful situation like a boss!
Looking back on my situation, I am amazed about how I fared. God gave me supernatural strength even and especially during the time I felt Him as being the most absent. He enabled me to launch my chaplaincy career, land a job in my home state, pack up my home by myself, and move half way across the country, literally, to start my new life on my own. Amazing.
I bet if you looked at what you have accomplished you might be able to detect God’s supporting Hand at work. My hat is off to those–like Naghmeh Abedini–who find the strength to refuse to tolerate anymore abuse and stand up even when facing extreme religious pressure to do otherwise.
You may not feel like a boss.
But I bet if you paused just a little to reflect, you might see how God has forged you with untold strength.
Cheaters think faithful spouses are just destined to fold under the pressure. They fail to grasp the spiritual truth found in Isaiah 54:16-17 about us that folding is not in our character.
We rise and conquer…LIKE A BOSS!
