God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
-Psalm 46:1-3, KJV
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
-Psalm 28:7-8, KJV
I found comfort in these verses from the Psalms as I struggled in my dark days. They became my prayers along with the music I occasionally share on this website. If you find yourself discouraged, I encourage you to memorize these verses or others like them and recite them as prayers. It is helpful to remember that God is our strength when we have come to the end of our own.
Speaking of music that ministered to my heart and served as prayers, another song that blessed me numerous times in my dark season is by Gungor (“Please Be My Strength”):
Thank you for this.
Very welcome!
