Your kindness will reward you,
but your cruelty will destroy you.-Proverbs 11:17, NLT
In the end, I remember a hardness of heart seemed to have come over my Cheater. Her best trait–kindness–was no longer evident to me.
I think actions and choices can transform a person. We reject God’s invitations to righteousness enough, God allows are hearts to harden. I think this is what happens with Cheaters.
We see their transformation from people who maybe once were open to good, godly things to people who have rejected truth and the light. They prefer darkness.
Make no mistake:
What we see is someone who has made MANY choices to choose sin. That is why the transformation happens. It did not happen with just one choice, I believe.
It is like The Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1-23) where the weeds choked out the good seed. The good plant eventually is starved of nutrients by the weeds of wickedness–i.e. greed–and worries. So, it withers and dies.
