I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries.
-Jeremiah 3:8, NIV
I am grateful for the merciful gift of divorce.
The mercy is for the faithful spouse (see Mt 19:9). They are set free from the destructive path the cheater is hell-bent to follow to their ultimate spiritual destruction (see Hebrews 1o:26-27).
My greatest joys these days were made possible by my divorce:
Mrs. DM and Munchkin are in my life. Plus, the parrots, too, would never be a part of my life if I had never married Mrs. DM.
If I was still married to my cheater, none of these relationships would exist. I would be stuck with someone who had or has complete contempt for me and God’s commandments. So, I am very grateful for the gift of divorce.
God is merciful.
He grants us the permission to divorce cheaters, because God does not condemn the innocent with the guilty as it comes to marital infidelity.
